The PAOS Nominating committee is accepting applications for elections to the Board of Directors.  The following positions are open for election:  

  • President-elect

    The President will be chairman of the Executive Committee and will serve as the Chair of the BOD.  The President will preside at all meetings of the PAOS.  The President will represent the PAOS to other organizations.  The President will coordinate with other officers and Committee Chairs. 


  • Treasurer 

    The Treasurer will maintain all financial records and disburse funds as directed by the BOD.  The Treasurer will be responsible for collecting and maintaining the documents required by the accountant to complete the annual tax filing, and will order periodic audits to assure the organization is in compliance with IRS requirements. The Treasurer will manage necessary information to maintain 501(c)6 not-for-profit exemption. The Treasurer will provide an annual report to the BOD outlining details of PAOS expenditures and assets for the previous fiscal year.   S/He will also be responsible for management of the 501(c)3 Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The Treasurer shall attend the annual CME meeting and all BOD meetings and/or conference calls.


     

  • Northwest Regional Director – (AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY)
    The Northwest Regional Director will function as general membership representatives/officers to the BOD and may be appointed or elected as chairperson of one or more committees.  They may also assist the other officers in the organization as needed or delegated.  Each Regional Director shall be responsible for maintaining memberships in their region and contacting past members about membership renewal. Regional Directors will coordinate membership information with the Membership Chair. Each Regional Director shall attend the annual CME meeting and all BOD meetings and/or conference calls.

  • Southwest Regional Director – (AZ, CA, HI, NV, UT)
    The Southwest Regional Director will function as general membership representatives/officers to the BOD and may be appointed or elected as chairperson of one or more committees.  They may also assist the other officers in the organization as needed or delegated.  Each Regional Director shall be responsible for maintaining memberships in their region and contacting past members about membership renewal. Regional Directors will coordinate membership information with the Membership Chair. Each Regional Director shall attend the annual CME meeting and all BOD meetings and/or conference calls.

  • North Central Regional Director – (IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, SD, WI)
    The North Central Regional Director will function as general membership representatives/officers to the BOD and may be appointed or elected as chairperson of one or more committees. They may also assist the other officers in the organization as needed or delegated.  Each Regional Director shall be responsible for maintaining memberships in their region and contacting past members about membership renewal. Regional Directors will coordinate membership information with the Membership Chair. Each Regional Director shall attend the annual CME meeting and all BOD meetings and/or conference calls.

Requirements:  The application should include an official photo, a position statement (500 words or less) and current CV. All applicants must be members in good standing with the AAPA and PAOS.  Applicants should be currently practicing in orthopaedics. 


Nomination applications may be self-nominated and must be received by midnight EST on April 15, 2018. The election will occur via electronic ballot from May 1 - May 31, 2018.  Elected officers will take office on July 1, 2018. 

All officers shall serve a period of two years, except the President-Elect, which will serve for 1 year after election in the second year of the President’s term and Immediate Past President which will serve for one year after his/her term is over.  Election to President will incur a 4-year term, one year as President-Elect, 2 years as President and one year as Immediate Past President.
